Rugged Adventures FAQ

What are your hours of operation?

Our regular day camp hours are 9am - 4pm. We also have extended hours 8:30 am - 4:30 pm available for an additional fee.

What should my camper bring?

For a full list of everything you will need, visit the Day Camp or Overnights page(s) and scroll all the way to the bottom.

Is there anything I should NOT bring?

We ask that campers please not bring electronics of any kind, including cell phones. Thank you in advance for your help with this.

Is my child ready for Rugged Adventures?

For day camp we require that campers be at least 6 years old by the start of their week of camp. For overnight trips campers must be at least 8. To have a positive experience campers must be able to keep up with the group in a variety of activities. If in doubt, please see our Policies Page for a list of required physical abilities.

Do you transport campers in vehicles?

Yes. For overnight trips, and on certain days of day camp, we transport kids in vans. If your child needs a booster seat, please drop it off with them on required days.

How and when do I pay?

To reserve a spot, payment in full is required at the time of registration. Payments are processed through PayPal by using the Checkout shopping cart function.

Can I switch weeks after I've paid?

We understand that plans change. Please let us know as soon as possible if you'd like to switch weeks. You may apply your payment towards another week at no penalty, subject to availability.

Can I get a refund after I've paid?

You are eligible for a full refund, minus credit card fees, if you cancel more than 60 days before your scheduled start of camp. For our full refund policy please visit our Policies Page.

What if it rains?

We are fortunate to have access to the Mt. Mansfield Academy fitness center, which is an awesome rainy day facility. Bad weather is no problem, we can shoot hoops, build obstacle courses, or climb on the climbing wall!

What if I don’t have a bike? (for day camp and bike trips)

We often have campers who are in Stowe on vacation and do not bring bikes on their trip. In these situations, we recommend that campers rent a bike from one of the many local bike shops. Pinnacle Ski and Sports, Mountain Ops, and AJ's Sports are all close to our camp and have top quality kids bikes available to rent.

Do you have the same campers each week?

The short answer is no. Some of our campers sign up for multiple weeks, some for just one week, so we have a different combination of campers every week.
