Classic Day Camp
Our classic day camp is a super fun week including all of our favorite activities listed above. We like to mix it up and do lots of different things each day so kids are always having fun!
Monday - Hike/Explore Day. We will pick a destination that suits our campers' interests, and spend the day exploring Stowe on foot. When it's hot, we love to cool off in our favorite local swimming holes.
Tuesday, Thursday, Friday - Bike Days. Our campers love biking so we will spend three days crusing Stowe's amazing mountain bike trails, or the rec-path, depending on each camper's interest. We have expert mountain bike coaches on our staff to help riders of all abilities gain skills and confidence. Whether your camper is an experienced mountain biker, or just starting out, we have a group that will challenge all levels.
Wednesday - Games Day. We will spend the day playing a variety of classic summer camp games like kickball and capture the flag, obstacle courses, and fun contests, plus visit a few of the best swimming spots.
Special Beach Days! On select Thursdays throughout the summer, we will travel to one of our beautiful local State Park beaches. We'll swim, go paddleboarding, play beach games, build sand castles, and have an awesome time!

HIKING / EXPLORING
There are so many places to explore on foot, it's a hiker's paradise! On hike/explore days we split into groups, younger campers may go check out one of the amazing Stowe Land Trust trail networks, or Stowe Pinnacle, and older campers might head to the Trout Club, or Mt. Mansfield. Whatever the destination, there's cool stuff around every corner.
Stowe is one of Vermont's best destinations for bike riders of all abilities. We give our campers a choice of all levels of riding; from Stowe's beautiful paved Rec Path, to world-class mountain bike trails, it is challenge by choice.
Learning skills and improving technique is a big part of what we do! We'll hit the best trails: Strawberry Farm to Cady Hill and Adams Camp!
On a hot summer day there's nothing better than a refreshing dip in one of our favorite Stowe river swimming holes. We know all the best spots, some for jumping, some for wading, and some for just hanging out. Our swim spots always have shallow areas for younger campers who aren't strong swimmers. These campers may bring flotation devices, if desired. If swimming isn't your thing, we can always skip rocks!
We love to play all types of games, including the old favorites like kickball and capure the flag. But we also love getting creative with obstacle courses, fun contests, and even making up our own games. What's your favorite outdoor game? Got any new ones to teach us?
On select days, we will travel to one of our nearby Vermont State Park beaches. There, we'll go paddle boarding, soak in the beautiful scenery, swim, play beach games, and build sand castles. There's nothing better than a Rugged Adventures beach day!
At Rugged Adventures, we do it all!
Olympic Week is our favorite Rugged tradition. It's all the same awesome outdoor activites from Classic Day Camp, with a fun Olympic twist! During this special week, we will spend time each day in the gym at Mt. Mansfield Academy, doing athlete specific workouts, and learning how to train like an Olympian.
Don't worry, we will still spend lots of time doing all of our regular outdoor activities like hiking, biking, swimming, and field games. These are all fun ways for future Olympians to work on skills and fitness.
We will learn about the Olympics, and some Vermont Olympians, to find out what it takes to be like them. This year, we will have a meeting with Olympian and World Cup winner Ryan Cochran-Siegle. Our campers will have a chance to ask Ryan all their questions about the Olympics, and get his advice on how to achieve our own Olympic dreams. The grand finale is hosting our own camp Olympics on Friday, where every camper picks a country to represent, and we challenge ourselves in tons of fun (and silly) events and contests throughout the day.
